Job description
Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Science, the Director of Public Health provides a combination of administration and teaching duties for the department and students in both the Bachelor of Environmental Health (After Degree) and the Graduate Diplomas and Certificate programs. Primary responsibilities are in the areas of: program management, professional community liaison, curriculum development, and student liaison. Other responsibilities are in the area of graduate student recruitment and institutional support.

As a faculty member of the institution, the Director will participate in current research, teaching, and community service activities as reported to the Vice President Academic annually.

Through the Department of Public Health, Concordia offers a Bachelor of Environmental Health (After Degree), Graduate Certificates in Public Health Leadership, Strategic Communications and Vulnerable Populations, and a new Graduate Diploma in Environmental Public Health Practice. These programs attracted a wide range of candidates at the post-graduate level and are nationally and internationally recognized.

Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a doctorate terminal degree in public health or a related field. The individual will also have a strong track record of success in an administrative leadership role and a solid understanding of the public health sector. Additional experience in teaching, curriculum development and working with instructors and/or faculty that are in offsite locations would be considered strong assets.
