Job description
The Opportunity – Director, Business Development
You will be a key member of the Partners and Payments team and will work closely with the VP, Business Development to ensure the growth and development of our key platform. You are a hunter and relationship builder who can identify, qualify, negotiate and close highly beneficial strategic partnerships. You will develop strategy, hire and mentor a high performing team and work with your peers in Product Development and Marketing to operationalize new lines of revenue growth for FreshBooks.


In this position, you will:
Support and accelerate the growth of a new line of business including ownership of the budgeted revenue
Evaluate the partner market landscape and select, on-board and operationalize each partnership
Maintain ongoing relationships with strategic partners including monthly and quarterly touch points
Build, motivate and coach a Business Development team
Provide regular status and strategy updates to the Executive team

Desired Skills and Experience
We think you'll be an amazing fit for this position if your application can demonstrate:
You have a minimum of eight years of progressive experience including at least two in a senior management or director level role
You have experience starting partnerships from scratch and moving them along the curve to full revenue engagement
You have a background in ISV, platform and community building partnerships
You have an eye for talent and a history of building high performance business development teams
You are a true leader – someone who enables and inspires their team to do their best work
