Job description
The Director of Care is a key role in our community, one of a team of engaged, passionate managers. In this role you are responsible for providing the leadership and direction for all care and services that are provided to the residents. You will work closely with the Community Relations Manager to promote the Amica brand by meeting with residents and their families as well as providing tours to perspective cliental. You will assess the medical background and care requirements for potential Amica residents to determine best fit for all parties included.
The Director of Care is also a leader in their own team, tasked with the hiring, development and on-going mentoring of care workers in the community. You are an engaging leader, not afraid to capitalize on teaching opportunities as they arise. You provide learning and development for your staff to ensure they continue to deliver superior care and services to our residents.
As Director of Care you will oversee and coordinate the delivery of services and care to our residents, advocating the Amica Wellness & Vitality™ program. You are responsible for scheduling staff, submitting payroll, managing budgets, and above all, making recommendations for improvements. If you want to make a difference this role may be for you.


Qualifications:
Degree in Nursing, plus current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and membership with Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO)
Preferred management experience and administrative experience is required with previous experience in the gerontology field
Excellent communicator, resilient, and flexible to meet the changing priorities of a dynamic team community.Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire people and think “outside of the box”
Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining “Five-Star” service excellence, embracing positive change and growth, and building relationships with the community
