Title: Financial Solutions Professional Services Partner
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Position Summary
This is an experienced professional services and software management position which is highly customer-focused. The partner is responsible for all P&L and services sales and sales growth for solutions under the professional services banner, as well as overall program management for these solutions.
Bilingual French and English speaking, proposal writing and presentation skills will be a definite asset.
This individual will ensure that all software support, projects and deliverables are handled in a professional manner meeting customer satisfaction and profitability goals. Attention to schedules, budget, quality standards, requirements management and traceability and employee satisfaction are critical for success. The Partner will be responsible for the management and implementation of corporate, divisional and organizational service delivery strategies, including tools, processes, platforms, product realization and the software development process, as appropriate for the Canadian financial market.
The successful candidate will actively and visibly support NCR programs that have an impact on increasing individual performance, satisfaction and retention. Helps build commitment and encourages full participation of all team members and promotes a spirit of cooperation and shared accountability.
A critical success factor will be effectively managing and coordinating team members who are geographically dispersed. NCR development centers are located in the US, Canada, Scotland and India.
The Software Partner has broad knowledge of the Retail Banking side of the financial services industry and specific, in-depth operational expertise in managing a professional services organization. Channel knowledge around branch, mobile, Internet and Self-service will be an asset.
Candidates must work to anticipate internal and external client needs and have an overriding commitment to client satisfaction. As well, incumbents must be able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change.
Travel will be required occasionally into the US. The candidate should anticipate travel requirements of between 25-30 percent of their time. This will typically translate into a 1-2 trips per month, for several days at a time. Sporadic international travel should be expected to Duluth, Georgia and Dundee, Scotland. Upon being hired, you should expect that training will include trips to Georgia for several weeks at a time.

· Creates project estimates, manages projects, assigns resources and sets priorities to assure project completion within schedules.
· Effectively leads all programs to meet customer needs and critical market windows with the highest quality and most effective utilization of resources.
· Identifies the organizational structure and relationships, identifies development processes, procures necessary job tools and manages the environment.
· Provides strategic direction to the development process and the use of key technologies.
· Participates in the creation of the development organization's mission and vision.
· Develops employees by providing challenges and opportunities.
· Supports and facilitates the career development of people by assessing skills and determining training and development needs in current and future positions.
· Fosters a self-directed, collaborative development team.
· Assesses and makes judgments about the technical competence of team members.
· Participates and provides leadership to software and services development program and its release.
· Provides coordination between the group managed and other teams to resolve technical and process issues.
· Implements, directs and seeks ways to improve plans and processes.
Desired Skills and Experience
Basic Requirements
· BS, MS or Ph.D. in a disciple related to software product technology.
· 5-10 years of progressive engineering management experience with proven success in software development, budget responsibility and managing others.
· Technical project leadership experience organizing project resources across multiple timezones and countries.
· Experience building and designing 7x24 resilient or mission critical systems
· Experience creating and leading group presentations, hosting web seminars and public speaking
· Working knowledge of ATM multi-vendor software, Canadian CPA rules and cheque processing solutions
· Understanding of APTRA ATM software, Gasper Vantage/APTRA Vision, or APTRA Passport would be an asset
· Working knowledge of CEN XFS financial device standard also an asset
Preferred Requirements
· Experience working in the branch automation, ATM and/or cheque processing verticals
· Financial institution or network switch ATM operational experience
· Practical (vs. academic) knowledge and experience in the following areas:
· Building and integrating WebServices applications (WebSphere or IIS)
· Building and integrating branch automation applications (teller and/or sales platform)
· Financial transaction authorization systems
· Financial transaction authentication systems
· Security standards (PCI)
· Key exchange mechanisms & schema
· Service & device manageability & dispatch systems
· Management and transport protocols
· Check Image Processing systems and standards
· Database schema
· Working knowledge of Software Product Lines
