Position Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing, the Director of Public and Analyst Relations is a high impact member of the marketing team charged with cultivating and maintaining strong, proactive, two-way relationships with the media and industry analysts that result in positive coverage of SOTI in the press and with analysts. The Director of Public and Analyst Relations will be a key information source for all media contacts requesting data and insights and will manage the development, implementation and coordination of internal and external public relations strategies. The ultimate goal of this candidate will be to gain and grow recognition of SOTI in the market, promote our solutions, and establish our thought leadership throughout our target customer segments. The Director of Public and Analyst Relations will maintain strong knowledge of competitor moves, market dynamics and customer challenges, as well as broad knowledge of the pan-SOTI portfolio of products and services. The candidate will act as a key internal advisor on media and analyst relations strategy by providing insights into media and analyst landscape, key influencers, and analyst views relevant to the SOTI product portfolio.

You will have proven tactical and operational knowledge of PR and AR, including understanding how they are different and yet synergistic with each other, and how each communications discipline is a force multiplier for the other. How well you think and how fast you think will be just as important as what you say and do, and since you have done this job already, you know that you will need closely manage the radarscope and re-stack as circumstances change. You also possess strong interpersonal skills with a can-do attitude. We are a small, dynamic team so there is no room for ego – everyone pitches in to get the job done.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

Public Relations
Develop a program of diverse, creative campaigns to maximize media exposure and align them with company strategic goals
Lead highly productive relationship with SOTI’s external PR agencies and effectively manage and prioritize agency budgets to desired results
Set press release and news sequence and integrate campaigns in traditional and social channels
Foster collaboration with internal stakeholders and serve as the primary interface between SOTI’s internal clients and external resources (including PR agency)
Establish Executive Visibility Program
Maintain Speaker Bureau and identify opportunities for pitching corporate speakers at events and conferences
Identify corporate awards and product review opportunities and prepare submissions
Identify creative and distinctive positioning opportunities relative to the competition
Establish thought leadership strategy and campaigns and work cross-functionally to develop content
Provide product launch and event support
Utilize media measurement tools to provide outreach guidance
Leverage reporting and measurement tools on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis and provide reporting metrics to VP of Marketing on a monthly basis or as required

Analyst Relations
Define and executive overall SOTI AR program and objectives; create and maintain annual and quarterly plans
Set AR priorities and guidelines for the company that align with corporate goals and strategy
Ensure analyst briefings, inquiries, presentations, etc. are held regularly and on-message
Enable SOTI executives to take advantage of analyst insights regarding strategy, communications, competitive landscape and customer needs
Develop strategic relationships with SOTI’s community of analysts to build confidence in SOTI, our brand, our leaders and key strategic initiatives
Serve as a credible spokesperson for the company and hold a two-way conversation with the analysts, proactively communicating news, information and updates
Maintain analyst relationship programs with key SOTI executives
Act as SOTI liaison to major analyst firms, to help manage escalations and manage overall relationship
Run pan-SOTI analyst relations metrics program
Provide key direction and strategy for annual analyst events, as well as coordinate company participation in analyst events and programs
Provide direction/content for strategic consulting sessions and analyst communications
Provide updates to senior management team on important analyst reports/feedback, synthesizing info into most salient points
Support PR and marketing with analyst participation in programs as required
Promote SOTI AR community communication and best practice sharing

Desired Skills and Experience
Education, Knowledge, Skills, Certifications/ Licenses, Competencies
Minimum 7 years’ experience in public and analyst relations
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism or marketing preferred
Established relationships with journalists and analysts
Proven results with highly strategic corporate PR and AR initiatives
Experience with executive communications
Superior written, presentation, and verbal communications skills
Demonstrated initiative, solid judgment and creativity
Understanding of the global digital media industry and the mobile ecosystem
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines gracefully, fostering teamwork amongst colleagues
Available to travel as required (up to 35%).
