Job description
Position Summary:
Tarkett is seeking a Director of Residential Sales for the Canadian market. The incumbent of this position is a key member of the Tarkett Canada’s senior management team with responsibility for the management and development of sales and marketing for Tarkett Canada.

This person will have direct reports that include: Sales Business Manager Western region, Sales Business Manager Central region, Sales Business Manager Eastern region, Marketing & Communication Director and the Coordinator Sales & Marketing. Dotted line reports include the Supervisor Technical Services.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:
Examine the Canadian market and propose the Sales and Marketing strategies;
Develop the operating sales and marketing budget for the whole country;
Review actual cost versus budget on a monthly basis and explain variances;
Manage an actual sales budget of 46M$ on the Canadian market;
Responsible to achieve the sales and profit targets set by management;
Hire, develop and manage a team of sales and marketing talent;
Develop and implement short term and long term sales plan for the residential segment;

Work with other functions of the company to grow market share and provide market feedback;
Communicate needs and opportunities to other partnering functions;
Maintain current client base and develop new ones;
Create of long term business relation with clients;
Define product offer to the needs of key clients;
Participate in the negotiation with major clients;
Propose the product range-offer definition;
Collect data & information about strategic position of competitors.

Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in this position, you will need:
Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or other related field
Minimum 7-12 years in the flooring business or other related industrial environment (residential business like furniture, lighting, hardware channels or the distribution business in general);
Consumer oriented or key account experience;
Retail/wholesale know how.
