Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The programmer/analyst’s main responsibility is to code programs in ABAP.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Code programs in ABAP, creating but not limited to report development, interfaces(IDOC, BAPI, BDC, PI), Forms (via smart forms, SAPScript), ALV, RFCs, User Exits, and dialog programming in the SAP ECC 6.0, SCM and CRM based on established development standards.
- Conduct data conversions using LSMW
- Develop and code difficult and complex programs for SAP modules
- Develop test data, conduct units testing and analyze problems in programs
- Recognize the critical elements of application problems, develop and evaluate data, determine solutions, and make logical recommendations
- Express difficult and complex concepts clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
- Write clear, logical reports, and instructions
- Write clear and logical program documentation
- Work effectively and independently on assigned projects
- Train system users effectively
- Troubleshoots and corrects SAP module problems by using ABAP programming language to implement OSS notes.
- Modifies system screens to provide default values and eliminate unnecessary fields using transaction variants.
- Interfaces with business analysts to ensure the proper integration of business processes and procedures to information technology.
- Assists in defining technical requirements for on-going systems maintenance and future functionality.
- Provides technical support to users/functional teams on matters related to programming. Support may require 24/7
- Prepares comprehensive and thorough technical program documentation including specifications, test conditions, test plans, test data, etc.
- Trains other developers on programming of forms and reports, defining authorization roles, custom workflows, and other related areas. Serve as Technical lead in a work group or project teams. Provide guidance/coaching to other junior ABAP developers. Will act as a resource to other developers in the team.
- Maintains effective and cooperative working relationships with process owners, BSAs and project consultants
- Learn new concepts in information technology
- Learn the characteristics of new systems and update skills to adapt to changing technology
- Work under severe deadlines and workload and given general objectives and high level functional specifications, determine and complete tasks with a high degree of independence. Meet established priorities and schedules

- Develop programs in ABAP within the specific timeline given.
Skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related area of study and a minimum of five years experience developing using ABAP.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

- Strong experience developing reports (ALV OO), custom screens (Screen Painter), interfaces (IDOC, BAPI, BDC), conversions (LSMW), user exits (CMOD/SMOD, BADI, Enhanced Frame Work), and forms (SapScript, Smart Forms). Additional pluses for the position include the following skills: PI/XI, Adobe Print Forms, HCM ABAP, and Workflow.
- A solid understanding of SAP as a business system from a technical point of view; strong writing of sound technical documentation; a track record of successfully implementing development objects.
- Good understanding of ECC – SD/WM modules, CRM and SCM and ability to create transaction data in SAP for good unit testing.
- Has good understanding of the different BAPIs and Function Modules in SAP
- Experience working in food manufacturing industry is highly desired
- Excellent communication skills, experience with managing customer expectations, reporting status, etc.
- Strong experience in systems and processes
- Must be performance driven, have a strong bias for action, and set stretch targets.
- Has the ability to work in an ambiguous situations.
