Be a part of our team! We are currently seeking an IT Project Manager (1 year contract) for our IT team in our Toronto location.

As an IT Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
• Planning projects in order to accomplish IT goals within constraints such as time, budget and agreed quality standards.
• Organizing and managing all phases of IT projects from start to finish, including working closely with the CIO, business functional areas and external vendors in defining systems/project priorities, scope, approach, resource requirements, timing deliverables and budget.
• Working directly with IT Team Members to estimate effort, plan activities and negotiate consensus among individual team members on their appointed tasks. Providing leadership and direction to the IT Team, to ensure successful completion of projects.
• Managing vendor relationships, service delivery and overall performance.
• Monitoring contracts, including review and/or approval of invoices and change orders, while maintaining regular communication with vendors and service providers.
• Planning and overseeing the preparation and dissemination of project communications. Communicating with CIO and/or Project Sponsors, IT Managers, IT Team, and consultants regarding status of specific projects. Preparing periodic progress, project status and problem resolution reports, and holding scheduled or special meetings.
• Reconciling conflicts within and between staff regarding resources, deadlines and standards.
• Identifying and resolving project issues.
• Collecting and analyzing data; preparing scheduled and special reports; maintaining program/project records.
• Bringing projects to a close, which includes creating end of project reports or evaluation documentation, holding close-out meetings and activities, and capturing and using relevant lessons learned.
Skills

To be successful in this role, you have:
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a project management role.
• Formal Project Management training (required).
• PMP or CAPM certification would be an asset – equivalent training and/or experience may be substituted for education.
• A thorough understanding and demonstrated experience in applying project management methodologies and tools to plan, execute, control and close projects of varying scale and complexity.
• Experience in providing a team with direction and vision, including motivating people to perform, listening to people, providing feedback, recognizing strengths and providing challenges.
• Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral.
